The Best Christmas Quotes I Could Find. Xmas Quotes are Full of Love. :)

I have always had a special corner for Christmas in my heart, even though I grew up as a 'Hindu.' I still remember the love, the joy, the feeling of gay abandon that I experienced on Christmas eve when in school.

And then "Love Actually" happened.

This movie which showcases the lives of 8 couples is set a month before Christmas. It touched me and my heart grew to love Christmas more than ever.

There are 2 scenes in the movie that I will never forget.

The first scene is the Christmas scene between Mark (Andrew Lincoln) and Juliet (Keira Knightley). Juliet has just gotten married to Peter, Mark's best friend (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Mark has always been in love with Juliet - but he never told her about it - since she was his best friend Peter's girlfriend.

Some days after Peter and Juliet's marriage, on Christmas eve, Mark visits their house. He rings the bell - and when Juliet opens the door - he does not say a word. He takes out some placards he has prepared and displays them to her one by one. In silence, Juliet reads what's written on the cards. Mark, in simple, beautiful words has confessed his love for her without any expectation - for on Christmas, one must tell the truth.

So beautifully is the scene portrayed in the movie...That I could not help being touched. Here's the video link for you. :)

The other scene in the movie that melted my heart was between Jamie (Colin Firth) and Aurelia (Lúcia Moniz). Jamie who actually lives in London, retires for a break to his French cottage where Aurelia is the Portuguese housekeeper. Aurelia knows only Portuguese and that's what she talks to Jamie in. Jamie knows only English and that's what he talks to Aurelia in. Yet, interestingly they understand each other and fall in love but don't mention it to each other. :)

After his French 'break' is over, Jamie goes back to London. He is so taken in by Aurelia, that he learns Portuguese. Then, on Christmas eve, oblivious to everything else, he comes to Marseille where Aurelia is now working as a waitress. He finds her address and comes right inside the restaurant where she is serving customers. He confesses to her in broken Portuguese that he loves her and wants to marry her - and since it was Christmas, he took his crazy chance :)

The scene is portrayed beautifully...
