I sent out a podcast episode this fortnight that talked about 10 simple habits that could have a HUGE impact on your life.

You see, we all know habit change is well...a bit tough. I mean, we all try to change habits - we try to exercise more, watch less TV, work more productively - but most of the time - it doesn't work out.

This fortnight - I asked myself: What are the 10 simplest, easiest habits to change - that can have a radical impact on everyone's life? That's the list I've mentioned here. All these habits require very little self discipline to establish and yield high long term returns.

Audio: A Terribly Simple Way to Form a New Habit

In the past, I've tried to establish new habits by using "force". This means - I've willed myself to change. I know many of you have done the same. This method involves so much of self-discipline that it rarely works for most of us. It didn't work for me.

In the past few months, I've tried a new technique to change habits. This technique involves establishing a very simple and easy habit first. Then, once you've established this habit - you intensify the habit in the next 30 days. Then you intensify the habit even more in the next 30 days...And so on.

So, let us say your aim is to exercise for 1 hour everyday. Then, according to this method - you exercise for 5 minutes everyday for 30 days. Then, you exercise for 15 minutes everyday for the next 30 days. Then, you exercise for 25 minutes everyday for the next 30 days...until - you finally reach your goal.

I've talked about this terribly simple method to create a new habit in this podcast episode. I've also talked about how I used this method in my own life to gradually exercise more and more everyday.
